Making the holidays merry and bright for local families
Started by Kiwanis in 1958, the Kiwanis Canby Community Food & Toy Drive is a tradition that brings the entire community together. Civic groups, church groups, scouting troops, businesses and individuals step up to volunteer and donate. In 2025 we served 532 families, with toys for 980 children and food for 2,158 people.
This program serves residents who live within the boundaries of the Canby School District and who are not receiving assistance from another holiday program. We coordinate with the county-wide Clackamas Compassion in Action to ensure that everyone in the county gets the help they need. Ours is a totally local event.
We provide gifts for children 0-18 years old without any toys from the Portland TV toy drives or other events outside our community. People who live alone and adults without children are also eligible for food gift cards. We do not require proof of need but we do require proof of living in the Canby School District. Those who fill out an application by the deadline can receive a food gift card, plus toys and gifts for kids 18 and under.
