Kids Need Kiwanis
Join us today, Tuesday, July 8, for a fun tour of our Native Plant Sanctuary in Canby at Canby Community Park. When you enter the park drive the whole circle around until you reach the picnic shelter. We are hosting a potluck lunch with cold drinks for everyone. The time is 1 p.m. Lots of great information about how native plants benefit everyone. Looking for a volunteer gig? David Kleinke is the man to talk to. See you soon. 1348 SW Berg Parkway.
Members and guests will enjoy a potluck picnic and tour the recently restored Native Plant Sanctuary just west of the pond. Club treasurer David Kleinke will update members on the project and talk about future plans. In 2023 the area was overgrown with blackberries and invasive non native plants. Since then over 200 new native plants have been introduced, paths laid out, wood chip mulch put down and many other improvements.
Over 50 local volunteers have helped with the area cleanup.
